General Tips:
In a rush to get our CG215 Web class final together as the Spring 2002 semester closes at SUNY/FIT in NYC, we "lifted" this CSS-styled layout from Steve Callihan's "CSS by Example" because our version of MaKo4CSS layout kept falling apart.
The color scheme is garish and not consistent. Framesets were included as a class exercise even though they have inherent limitations.
SLIDES
button has a "remote slide show," which opens full-size
image in a new display window when thumbnail is clicked. It's based on Thau's JavaScript Tutorial Lesson 3, p.10
at WebMonkey. We're using this in a FrameSet so new remote displays in target frame, instead of new window.
REMOTES
button leads to frameset that includes our version of Ronnie T. Moore's "remote" script,
which was also found through http:www.gatescript.com and opens a new
window. Our version contains link to original source.
POPS button
includes frameset links to several experiments with different scripts for
pop-ups and drop-downs, and Eric
Meyer's ".span{display:none}" for CSS2 links.
Most noteably, POPS button leads to our version of Tom Duffy's dhtml_pro article at DevX
entitled Create a Tabbed User Interface. We loved his script, but
our experment fell apart in NN4 and on Macs. We also tried Duffy's Pop
Goes the Menu but have not
yet worked out our bugs.
